Students highlight culture through colors

Indian Student Association participate in Holi festivities at Frontier Park

Holi, a Hindu holiday, includes a festival that celebrates the beginning of the spring season and embraces growth through colors. The Indian Student Association sponsored this gathering.

The event was held at Frontier Park on Sunday, March 24 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Although Holi festivities mainly occur in the regions of India, Nepal and countries where the Hindu religion is prominent, it is observed widely around the world within Hindu communities.

“Events like Holi allow for people to get a taste of Indian culture without having to travel across an ocean,” junior Tarik Mujib said. “Our club strives to create a space that celebrates Indian traditions, and to teach others what our culture is all about.”
