Trailing new route, annual homecoming parade unites town

Poms in the air, junior Hailey Piot and the rest of the Talonettes walk in their squad lines, cheering on the community. This year marks Piot's first on the Talonettes. " I had a lot of fun walking by all the little kids," Piot said. "(I enjoyed) getting to see friends and family on the side waving to us and cheering us on!"

Throwing the ball up, senior Catherine Biju prepares to serve. Biju played along side her teammate senior Gaby Nielsen. "When I step on the court, I feel excited and a bit nervous," Biju said. "You never know what is going to happen in the match, so it can be nerve wracking to compete. Yet the challenge and working toward a goal makes it really fun."
Eagles celebrate senior night with clean sweep
Head bowed, junior Justin Alfano leads the team in prayer after the game. Alfano plays as the second string quarterback. "I thought it was great I was able to be a part of my team and lead the team in prayer because I like to share my faith in every way I can and spread His name, word, and gospel," Alfano said. "Being able to do that with my team made me really happy."
Football takes homecoming game win
Reaching with one hand above her head, senior Hannah Lee successfully blocks another shot. Lee is the only senior girl on the varsity team, and has been playing water polo for four years. “I am eternally grateful for the experiences and memories Prosper Water Polo has given me,” Lee said, “And I will carry them with me throughout my life.”

Ready for questions, HOSA's information table about the blood drive stands organized outside of the cafeteria during lunch. The table will be out two weeks prior to the event. "During lunches, like any lunch you have, you just go up to that table and then they'll give you more information," said sophomore Maryam Alshawi, HOSA member. "And you can make an appointment."

Standing in green Malcom Hill continues his passion for football as a coach. This marks his second year working for Prosper High School. "I kind of fell in love with the sport in middle school," Hill said. "Played it throughout high school and up until college.” 
Malcolm Hill brings faith to the field
As they discuss a dive, junior Kiera Williams listens to dive coach Eric Ognibene. Williams competes in varsity water polo, varsity swim and varsity dive. "You can't be scared and be a diver," Williams said. "You have to just do it."
Eagle Brief: Nov. 18 - 22
Performing as one, the Rock Hill Band plays in place of the Mighty Eagle Band on October 4th at Children's Health Stadium. The Rock Hill Pep Band will play stand tunes for the Prosper playoff game tonight. “Even with our friendly competition that all three schools have, we still want to make a clear message that all of Prosper ISD is still one,” Rock Hill drum major senior Maxwell Lee said. “Also, we understand the importance of Grand Nationals as a competition for the PHS band, so we want to support their trip and we wish them the best of luck.”
Rock Hill band will play for Prosper during playoff game
After school, freshman Michelle Ayala interviews junior Elizabeth "Betty" Gacek. At just 17 years old, Gacek has already accomplished balancing her academics with having fluency in eight languages as well as overcoming a series of challenges with her dyslexia. Her life is split between two distinct countries and cultures. She spends her summers in Poland for schooling and the rest of her time in Texas. “In Poland, the culture is more serious," Gacek said. "If you smile, it can be perceived as being dumb or creepy. In Texas, it’s a more casual and friendly atmosphere where smiling and casual interactions are common.”

The Eagle Nation News team which usually gives viewers a 15-minute program with each episode of Season 11, instead this week covered the homecoming parade. While the audience watches, junior Boyd Mueller sings into a microphone. Mueller plays Hades. Prosper Theatre's "Hadestown: Teen Edition" was chosen to be performed at the Main Stage at the Texas Thespian State Festival in Grapevine. "Generally, Main Stage is a privilege almost exclusively given to private fine art schools," stage manager senior Annabelle Nugent said. "The fact that a public school like Prosper is getting Main Stage is fantastic. Simply, it means that we are at the level of schools who specifically draft for stuff like fine arts and singing and dancing ability, and it's really a compliment to our actors and our technicians."
Prosper Theatre shows varsity musical
Holding up a 'Smile for Sadie' sign, senior Gavin Teague and junior Alyssa Milner stand in the Talonette section. The Talonettes performed a dance dedicated to their teammate Sadie Neddo. A prayer was held at the end of the game to honor her.
Eagles come out with close win over McKinney Lions
Helmet in air, the Prosper Eagle football team celebrates Coach Eric Mach's birthday after the win. The team is currently 3–0 in district play, ranking second. "We need to secure another district win to accomplish our goal of becoming district champions," senior Davis Carte said. "We've been preparing all week and if we keep producing like we have been I know we will."
Football takes win in 'Pride of Prosper' matchup
Taking a breath during the Alma Mater, junior Logan Thompson shuts his eyes and sings along to the music as the band plays. The game ended with a score of 42-16 and breaking Plano East's undefeated streak. The next game will be home against the Rock Hill Bluehawks at a game called "Battle Against the Birds," along with a Reynolds night, where eight-grade students in band from Reynolds can come to the game for free and interact with Prosper students in band and color guard.
Football 'tackles' Panthers, heads to district play against Rock Hill
Looking at a bracelet handed to them from the crowd, seniors and Princess and Prince Julie Acevedo and Brandon Rodriguez wave to the crowd. Acevedo and Rodriguez are both involved in choir. "I love how the Prosper community comes together for Homecoming," Acevedo said. "Seeing friends and family at the parade is always so much fun."
Prosper celebrates annual homecoming parade
As he directs the tubas, senior Hank Carbajal sets up for another rep. This is his fourth year in the band program. "The hardest part about band camp I would say is the heat," Carbajal said. "It really gets to you when you when you have to wait for directions."

Senior Erica Deutsch leads the Multi-Media section of the newspaper. This is her third year working for Eagle Nation Online. She adores photography and hopes to create a positive impact with her writing and podcasts. She is excited to publish video packages and continue sharing the powerful stories of others. Kaya Miller, Co-Editor-in-Chief
Kaya Miller, originally from Los Angeles, California, moved to Prosper, Texas in 2017. She attends Prosper High School as a senior. This is her third year on staff, and she is co-editor-in-chief of Eagle Nation Online and editor-in-chief of the print newspaper Eagle Nation Times. Miller is on the Prosper debate team as historian. She is also president of the Spanish Honor Society. Miller is also on the Dallas Rowing Club Juniors team. In her free time, she enjoys baking and playing guitar.
