As she prepares to take a photo, senior Loretta Sofi spends time with her friends before going back to school. Senior Sunrise started at 6 a.m. on the PHS baseball field. The student council provided a light breakfast for seniors including donuts and orange juice.

As she converses with a student, Counselor Megan Howell helps those in any way she can from schedule changes to much larger issues. Its so great (that I get to) have real conversations, Howell said. At his desk, long-term substitute Gary Spurgeon works on his computer. PISD hired Spurgeon to substitute for English IV for around three months. In the attached article, Spurgeon shares his story overcoming cancer and returning to his job as a teacher.

Located in the lower house, Student Support Counselor Stephanie Clayton shows her new office. Clayton spends her time at PHS helping students navigate mental health issues and guiding them into a successful school year. This is her second year at the high school and district.

As her name is announced, senior Ayden Ames walks across the field at Meet the Eagles. She is committed to play volleyball at the University of Nebraska. Im excited to play with this years team, Ames said. Hopefully we go far in the playoffs because we have a really good group of girls this year.

According to their coaches, seniors Tyler Mercer, Terrence TJ Jones, Jonah McClendon, and Davis Perkins lead both on and off the field alongside QB1, senior Nate TenBarge. “(After the Rock Hill game,) I saw that we can’t get big-headed, McClendon said. We need to come out punching in order to win the game (against Little Elm tonight).

Dodging his defensive opponent, junior Leo Anguiano rushes down the field. Anguiano was named offensive player of the game for the match-up against Rockwall, Sept. 8th. Leo joined the varsity team last year, and plays as running back.

In celebration of a successful sack, senior Davis Perkins runs toward the sidelines as he lets out an excited scream. Perkins plays as a defensive linebacker. He was a part of the homecoming court for this school year, alongside his girlfriend, senior Alexis Kirksey. The festivities began at 6:15 p.m., 45 minutes before kickoff.
Football wins homecoming game against Sachse by a landslide, 49-13
As they cheer on the crowd, the senior varsity football team and cheerleaders pass by on their float. The varsity team played their first game against Trinity on Aug. 25. Tonight, they will play their second game against Sacshe at 7 p.m. at Childrens Health Stadium.

As the lights frame the stage, the audience is appauled by the breathtaking and symmetrical lighting. The detail that went into the production looks complex. The show could have been a lightshow by itself.

The nine photos in this collage represent the people important to senior Juliana Cruz. The photo in the middle shows Cruzs grandmother holding the columnist when she was just a few weeks old. The necklace worn on her grandmother, Cruz wears today. Watching my grandma leave this earth was a learning lesson – to make sure my family and I hold each other accountable to be able to watch each other grow, Cruz said. Ever since February, my approach with family has been more grateful than ever.

Erica Deutsch, originally from Orlando, Florida, is a junior at Prosper High School. This is her second year working for Eagle Nation Online and she serves as the feature and entertainment editor. She adores photography and hopes to create a positive impact with her writing and podcasts. Outside of school, she enjoys playing guitar, watching movies, trying new baking recipes, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Sofia Ayala is a junior at Prosper High School. This is her third year working for Eagle Nation Online. She currently serves as Assistant Editor for Eagle Nation Times, and served as the Feature editor in the past. Sofia is part of the varsity PHS Talonettes where she enjoys to work together with her team. Outside of school, she enjoys going out on runs, reading, and listening to music.
