  • The Prosper ice hockey team has their round one playoff game this Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in McKinney at the Children’s Health Stars Center. Come out and bring your Prosper spirit! Admission is FREE!
  • Prosper High School will host the Eagle Idol Talent Show Wednesday, March 1. Submissions to participate in this year’s talent show are due no later than Wednesday, Feb. 22.
  • Cheer tryouts will be held Feb. 27 – March 3. The mandatory informational meeting will be held Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.

  • The Prosper Esports team is selling Jerseys to support participation in tournaments, travel, and hosting tournaments in the future. If you would like to support the Prosper Esports club, email Coach Kincaid.
  • Prosper Rocket League Varsity team is currently undefeated in the HSEL Spring Open, winning four to zero against Alice High School Coyotes in their first match, and four to zero against Denham Springs HS in Louisiana last week. Tune in tonight at 5 p.m. on the Prosper HS Eagle Esports twitch channel to watch as they march towards Nationals!
Prosper ISD is introducing a JV Drill Team. The PHS meeting will be held Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m., and tryouts will be held on March 31. At Rock Hill, the meeting will be held March 1 at 7 p.m. in the RHHS LGI. Tryouts will be March 30. (JV Drill Team Prosper ISD)

Uplifting

To celebrate national FFA week, the PHS FFA is hosting several events. The week is Feb. 18 – Feb. 25. Among the events included are a scavenger hunt, game night and “wear blue” day. (PHS FFA)

On Wednesday, Feb. 22, members of the PHS Speech and Debate competed in the National Speech and debate Association District Qualifier. Junior James Kim placed 2nd in Congressional Debate and qualified for the National Tournament.

The Swim and Dive State Qualifiers just came back from a great meet in Austin and came home with a Silver award in the 100 Fly, finalists in the 50 Free, 1M Diving, the 100 Fly, the 100 Back and the 400 Free Relay, as well as four All-Americans.

On Saturday, PHS artists competed in the State VASE Regional Competition. PHS showed up with the most entries of any school in our region and walked away with a total of 159 Regional Medals and 15 State Qualifiers. Four PHS filmmakers won first in state in the category of 6A Traditional Animation for their short film entitled “Lift” at the UIL Academic Young Filmmakers Championship!
