During a rendition of the opera singing game, senior Chris Tamez, sophomore Averie Grace Benson and junior Titus Boyd sing with their given prompt - a gender reveal party. All three are also in the varsity musical class. I like being improv because as somebody who has English as their second language, improv gives me the opportunity to be more spontaneous when speaking or acting, Tamez said. It helps me in my daily life and in becoming more fluent in English.

Unwrapping a gift, sophomore Luckie Cormier finds a dagger in the blue box. Cormier has been in two other shows in the department prior to her performance in Clue: On Stage. Clue opened Dec. 8. The show ran from Dec. 8-10, held at 6:30 p.m.

As they gaze into space, senior Cooper Smith, sophomore Luckie Cormier and freshman Nathan Phillips ride their rocket ship in the game Movie Trailer. Smith and Philips are both in the upcoming Les Misérables production and Cormier plays Mrs. Peacock in Clue. I feel like I am learning a lot about being an actor, Phillips said. Its really fun.

Huddled together on the stage, all four houses group together for a photo. There are four houses that the department is divided into: Ursa, Procyon, Callidus and Concordia. This semester, the theatre department will be performing Les Misérables as the fall musical, and Clue as the fall play.

Surrounded by his queens including alumna Jessie Kuhn, seniors Lauren Grammer, Mikayla Sexton, and Marissa Denman, juniors Anna Stringer, and Riley Quinonez, and sophomore Mary Freitas, senior Tate Lauby portrays dream King Henry VIII while sitting in the shows lone set piece, a throne. The theatre department traveled to Scotland and England this summer for the International Fringe Theater Festival with the American High School Theater Festival. We had to go for a more minimalist design with the set because transporting a large set is not realistic, senior Lauren Grammer said. We had a couple props and other things that were put into peoples carry ons. I would say that was a (from other shows).

We have rehearsal Wednesday, and on Thursday we will compete. We’ve all worked really hard on the show. My character, Hawthorne, is one of the judges. She is also not originally a lady, so I had to dabble into some character development there.”

Lauby plays the perfume maker in the fall show Kodachrome, which will open on Oct. 14. As a cast member for Kodachrome, Im super excited for the show, Lauby said. Weve been working so hard to prepare for it to be great. Im extremely ready to get on the stage and preform once again.

Stealing the stage, senior Charlize Fedele kicks through her big number Show Off as Janet Van De Gaff. Janet is played by Fedele on April 30, and sophomore Summer Riche on May 1. It has been so fun getting to work on this show. The cast has truly become my family, Fedele said. This is the perfect way to end my senior year, and I wouldnt change it for anything.

Peeking through the hole of the Wall, sophomore actress Madeleine Wentz, sophomore actress Lauren Grammer and sophomore actor Austin Rose look for each other. The show will start at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. The cost is $5 payable in cash or check at the entrance and face masks are required. “Avery and I have been working really hard on our parts together,” sophomore actor Tate Lauby said. “We are super excited for people to see the show on Tuesday. When you see the show I think you will be able to see everyone’s dedication and effort. For instance, Avery and I learned how to do the Charleston dance for the special part of the show.”
