As a beautiful chapter of my life comes to a close, Richey said, it is bittersweet and exciting to reflect on the memories Ive made and look forward to the ones I will make in the coming years. Richey will attend Brigham Young University this fall and plans to major in Exercise and Wellness with a minor in Ballet.

At their first competition of the season, the Talonettes take a group photo. The team competed at the annual MA Competition, which was held at Liberty High School in Frisco. In their category, the Talonettes placed first in their Officer, Elite, and team dances.

A lot of people start so young, I started with ballet and tap. It was something that I really, really, enjoyed.”

Moving backwards, senior Talonettes captain Zoe Dale performes in the elite dance. The elite dance was a contemporary dance to Total Eclipse of the Heart. The elite team is a select group within the Talonettes that perform an extra dance at competition with an advanced skill set. The elite team tried out with a contemporary routine in fall with special skills such as a triple pirouette, turning russian, tilt jump and leg hold turn.

This design, inspired by pop artist Andy Warhol, is the logo for the performance this year. The multi-colored boxes are intended to represent a Zoom call, along with the diverse audience that the dancers will be able to perform to with the show being pre-recorded. The Nutcracker will be recorded this weekend starting Dec. 4.

Junior Reagan Newton dances to I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston. Last month, the United Cultural Society hosted the Black History Month Kingdoms and Contributions assembly. At the event, which was held in the arena Feb. 24, the Talonette officers honored Houston and other artists with a dance performance.
