At 2 a.m. on August 1st, a man dressed as a clown was spotted carrying black balloons in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The sighting was reported, but the clown was not arrested.

According to the police department, “the [photo] that was going around of the clown in Prosper wasn’t real” and there have been no legitimate clown sightings within the city limits.

The police department, still, is always “on the lookout for any activity, and if/when a real report comes in the PPD will deal with it accordingly” by sending officers to keep people safe and sound.

The faculty, too, are busy protecting students from a potential clown menace.

Keep in mind that there have been over 12 arrests in 10 different states due to false clown reports. Creating a false incident is illegal and wastes officer’s valuable time. If there ever is a legitimate clown sighting, the police will handle it appropriately.

There is no need to buy into a world-wide hysteria simply to be ‘cool’. As always, the faculty and police are keeping everyone safe from harm.
