The Unified Track and Field Team gathers together after winning Area Championship. This group will advance to the regional meeting Tuesday, April 15, at Waco Midway High School. “This is such an amazing group of students,” coach Leslie Wright said in an email about the event. “And, this is allowing for more opportunities for students to be involved in UIL sports.” The following students participated: Front row: Rhyton Morse, Camila Andino-Sanchez, Sam Hill, Coach Dax Hawkins. Upcoming

  • Senior students and parents, here’s an opportunity to be recognized in Prosper High School’s print newspaper, Eagle Nation Times. ENT is selling ads featuring seniors, which will be published in the next issue. More info can be found by scanning the QR code.
  • 2025-26 Prosper & Richland Color Guard Auditions are this month. Audition packets can be picked up in the main office. Join the Google Classroom for audition materials and updates. Classroom codes can be found on the hallway posters or the application packet. There is no experience necessary to join color guard. If you want to learn what it means be a member of our team, come check out our training sessions! Training Dates: April 10, 15, 17. Auditions: April 22, 23, 24.
  • The Talonette’s spring show, “The Game of Life,” will be on April 24-25 at 6:30 in the PHS Auditorium.
  • Get ready for a night of style, creativity, and innovation at our first-ever district-wide Fashion Show on Thursday, May 1st, at 6:30 PM in the Auditorium, showcasing designs of students from Prosper, Rock Hill, and Walnut Grove with free admission.
  • STAAR will take place tomorrow, April 21 for US History and Biology, remember to check the bell schedule and your schedule for the day.

JV and Varsity track & field girls are UIL District 6-6A Champions, placing first on Thursday, April 3. This is the first Varsity District Championship since moving up to 6A and the first in over 10 years. Their 6A Region 1 meet will be on April 18-19, 2025

As they take a lap around the track (from left to right), Shawn Richey, Carla Richey, Paule Frenette, Katrina Garivay, freshman Anastasia Khritonenkova, junior Issac Chism, seniors Nick Vargas, John Dyer, Evan Creasy, Tyce Pierce, Keagan Carnathan, and Alex Steinfield come together with the Prosper community. Relay 4 Life is an annual fundraising event hosted by Student Council. “The Relay 4 Life was a great time to unite and have fun with the school while spreading cancer awareness,” Khritonenkova said. “Truly a must-see time in the school.”
  • Student Council hosted Relay 4 Life on April 11 at the Turf & Track.
  • The last two senior lunches of the year will be on May 2 & 16. Seniors will be released at 1:33 p.m. to enjoy an hour of lunch!
  • Prosper High School seniors will be hosting a ‘senior sunset’ on May 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Frontier Pavillion. Seniors are encouraged to wear something that represents their plans for next year.
  • ENO received an ILPC Bronze Star Award award over the weekend!
  • Members of THE Prosper High School’s Eagle Nation News traveled down to Austin this weekend to attend the 2025 Interscholastic League Press Conference Spring Convention at UT Austin. As you’ll read below, they brought home a bunch of awards! Please congratulate all of these incredibly talented broadcast news students when you see them.

Passing out candy and stickers to the community are kids from Boyer Elementary at the Hope Walk Event. The event was held on March 29. The community came to walk around the Children's Health Stadium while various Hope Squad groups spread positivity and awareness for suicide prevention.

As they hit the final pose, the senior Talonettes perform the second dance of the day alongside the team. This marked the last contest of the season. The last performance for the Talonettes will be on April 24-26 in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m.

Waves rolling, sophomore Elizabeth Cohorn relaxes on the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama during spring break. This was her first time going. "I had a great time in Gulf Shores," Cohorn said. "It was very peaceful, and it was nice reading a book while hearing the ocean waves."

Eyes ahead, freshman Alysson Nwabueze approaches the finish line. The 800-meter run began at 1 p.m. The event was held at the Prosper High School Track and Field.
Eagle Brief: March 10 – 14
After competing at their last regional contest of the season, the Prosper High School Talonettes finished 1st overall for the entire competition. The Talonettes got first place for all of their 12 routines. Their last competition is March 28 & 29 where they will compete at Nationals.
Eagle Brief: March 3 – 7
Crowding together, players on the varsity baseball team speak to each other in between innings. In this game, there were 14 innings since it was a scrimmage. "I've been playing baseball since 5th grade," varsity player (add grade) Alejandro 'AJ' Sanabria said. "I like how competitive it is."

Sitting at her desk, Rachel Cummings, the social studies coach, goes through previous questions in preparation for competition. She believes that this team has truly what it takes to make it to state. “My students study so much, they become experts beyond what even I know,” Cummings said. “They take the information and resources and run with it. This is a superb team, one of the hardest-working groups I’ve coached.”
Coach closes PHS chapter with district title
As the opening of Richland High School is just around the corner, Dr. Lute Croy has already made plans for pep rallies and student events. "We do some great things here at Prosper High School, but we get a chance to start our traditions." Croy said. After three impactful years leading Prosper High School, Principal Nicholas Jones is stepping down to accept a new role as the district’s director of leadership, a move he described as exciting but bittersweet. “I’ve been a campus administrator for 10 years and a principal for six, but Prosper High is special,” Jones said. “This is the best school I’ve ever worked at.” Graphic made by Ethan Chatelain in Canva.

As laws regarding the ban of cell phones in schools are passed around. It is essential we keep our personal freedom. The pros to keeping phones in school simply outweigh the cons.

Michelle Ayala can be found cheering on her dance team, as well as attending all kinds of school events. She is a freshman at Prosper High School. This is her first year on staff as a reporter. She is originally from Frisco, Texas. During her free time, Michelle spends time dancing on the Eaglettes JV drill team. She also has received an award from Best of SNO on her “Senior overcomes injury, dives in to help water polo team” feature article. She also loves going on runs, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. During her time on the newspaper she hopes to improve her photography skills, and writing.

Polly Greaves, Reporter
Born in Lenham, England, freshman Polly Greaves has called 14 other places home and recently arrived in Prosper, Texas, ready to dive into the pool and pursue water polo. During the day, you can find her writing a new book, practicing her Spanish or playing the piano. Polly is stoked to start her first year of high school. She is looking forward to the variety of courses offered at Prosper high school, to give her more opportunities to follow her passions and interests.
