Drive is Prosper High School’s sports podcast. Created by senior Will Ligon, and Co-Hosted By freshman Eli Deutsch. They interview the multitude of different sports offered at Prosper.

Prosper students Will Ligon and Eli Deutsch talk to sophomore golfers Davis Cioletti and Yunjae Park about their experiences with golf. Davis and Yunjae share their thoughts, motivations, and mindsets for how they compete for golf. Along with how they go with the daily practices.

Sitting around the podcast station, RoboTalons discuss their upcoming competition to New Mexico. This past weekend, the Prosper FRC Robotics teams 5411 RoboTalons traveled to Plano, TX to compete against 28 other teams. As world conflicts and natural disaster worsen, juniors Trisha Panicker and Aarushi Rana dissect the news events from Sept. 23 to Feb. 14 to help prepare competitors in the Current Events & Issues UIL event. The districts tournament is coming up on Saturday. "The world's tallest woman Rumeysa Gelgi meets the world's shortest, Jyoti Amge," said Rana. "I actually heard about this news on social media."

Freshman Polly Greaves renovated this graphic for their new episode on Canva. The book they read this episode is "Five Survive" by Holly Jackson. "Me and Heather Davis have advisory together, therefore, while I was reading this book, I got to look over at her now and then, and ask, 'why do you like this book so much?'" said Greaves. "And she just looked back at me like I was a complete weirdo and, you know, that just made my day."

Award in hand, the robotics team celebrate their success at their district competition where they came on top. “This was our first district competition this year, and actaully the first time we ever won a district competition,” Lee said. “Beyond just our bot being successful and winning, seeing how much our team has evolved over the four years I’ve been on the team was amazing. It was incredible to witness not only our technical achievement but also our team’s growth.” With many of the seniors graduating the team hopes for similar success next year.
Prosper robotics secures district victory
Working on the final touches for their presentations, seniors Savanna Bleak and Devananda Anoop work on organizing names in folders. This is 2024-2025 PCIS final presentation for future careers. "It's very exciting for what we're doing since it's the last one," Anoop said. "It's also really nerve-racking as well getting prepared."

Sitting at her desk, Rachel Cummings, the social studies coach, goes through previous questions in preparation for competition. She believes that this team has truly what it takes to make it to state. “My students study so much, they become experts beyond what even I know,” Cummings said. “They take the information and resources and run with it. This is a superb team, one of the hardest-working groups I’ve coached.”
Coach closes PHS chapter with district title
As the opening of Richland High School is just around the corner, Dr. Lute Croy has already made plans for pep rallies and student events. "We do some great things here at Prosper High School, but we get a chance to start our traditions." Croy said. A preview of Richland High School
The Unified Track and Field Team gathers together after winning Area Championship. This group will advance to the regional meeting Tuesday, April 15, at Waco Midway High School. "This is such an amazing group of students," coach Leslie Wright said in an email about the event. "And, this is allowing for more opportunities for students to be involved in UIL sports." Will Ligon, Podcast Director
Will Ligon brings creativity to Eagle Nation Online through his podcasts. He is a senior at Prosper high school, and this is his second year on staff. He is in marching band and plays the trumpet. He made his first podcast, “The Memory Space,” his sophomore year. After high school he wants to go to DBU and major in Communications.

Eli Deutsch, Reporter
A new staff member of Eagle Nation Online, freshman Eli Deutsch will be covering sports and other stories. You can find him playing baseball or hanging out with his friends. This year is Eli’s first year as apart of the Eagle nation online newspaper team. He is excited to start working on stories and articles for eagle nation online. Eli also wants to also take photos and cover sporting events for the school.

As she continues to jump around the bends of different creative tasks, junior Victoria Byers has entered her first year on Eagle Nation Online. She has a passion for fashion and a mind for mental health. Outside of school, you can find relaxing to music with her mom, practicing band with her drum line, or planning her outfit for tomorrow. Tori said she hopes to expand her knowledge on clothing, creative writing, and others’ lives. She has currently reported on sports photography along with a few stories around school events.
