As world conflicts and natural disaster worsen, juniors Trisha Panicker and Aarushi Rana dissect the news events from Sept. 23 to Feb. 14 to help prepare competitors in the Current Events & Issues UIL event. The districts tournament is coming up on Saturday. “The world’s tallest woman Rumeysa Gelgi meets the world’s shortest, Jyoti Amge,” said Rana. “I actually heard about this news on social media.”

What’s up our current eventers! This is Part 1 of Episode 7, where Trisha and Aarushi discuss the news from Sept. 23, 2024, to Oct. 19, 2024. Throughout this three-part episode, we will cover the news from the dates included in the Current Events & Issues UIL test for the upcoming district tournament, which spans from Sept. 23, 2024, to Feb. 14, 2025.

With an influx of mass deportations and Australian wildfires, juniors Trisha Panicker and Aarushi Rana analyze how the toll of these events. "Controversy has been sparked by this issue (mass deportations) with as many as 18 states, including California, New Jersey, and Massachusetts, filing lawsuits claiming the order violates the U.S. Constitution," Panicker said. "The wait is until Feb. 6 to decide if this is permanent or not."

On his second episode of 'Drive' senior Will Ligon interviews seniors Regan Roberts and Ellie Christiansen. Both of them are on the Varsity Girls Soccer team. Christiansen serves as a team captain for the 24-25 season.

Freshman Polly Greaves created this updated version of the original graphic through Canva. Their next episode reviews a science fiction novel, 'Ender's Game.' "I feel like [Orson Scott Card] did a really good job incorporating feelings into his words and the plot," Greaves said, "which really made it a work of art because I believe that good books are books that can make you feel something."

Freshman navigates drill team, Hope Squad, academics

ENN Season 12 Episode 29
As senior Kendall Simms holds the girls golf team's first place district plaque, senior Sophia Duque, sophomore London Pearson, Principal Nick Jones, sophomore Tatum Churchman and junior Erica Lee come together. The team will compete at the Golf Regionals Tournament April 14-17. "It was a very intense day," golf coach Tyler Pearson said. "The girls handled the emotions and pressure unbelievably well."

Glove on hand, junior Avery Bunner warms up for the Prosper Softball game on Mar. 3 against Rock Hill High School. The Lady Eagles defeated the Blue Hawks 9-5. This game was Officials Appreciation Night at Prosper High School.

Trisha Panicker is a junior and this is her first year as a reporter for ENO. She takes interest in politics and current events and hopes to express this through her writing. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her dog, Rusty, and playing the viola.
Aarushi Rana
Aarushi Rana, Reporter
Aarushi Rana, originally from Connecticut, is a junior at Prosper High School. This is her first year on Eagle Nation Online and she serves as a reporter. In her free time, she enjoys painting, reading and watching movies. Through ENO, she hopes to enhance her literature skills.

Yousuf Ali, Graphic Designer
In his first year working with Eagle Nation Times and Eagle Nation Online, Yousuf Ali is a junior, and this marks his his third year as a graphic design student. He aims to sharpen his skills not only in design, but as a member of a team and help those around him improve too. Outside of school, Yousuf likes to draw, play video games and binge watch tv shows.
