The next game will be home against the Rock Hill Bluehawks at a game called "Battle Against the Birds," along with a Reynolds night, where eight-grade students in band from Reynolds can come to the game for free and interact with Prosper students in band and color guard.

Government teacher Rod McCall gives his third-period senior students reasons to get their voices heard by registering to vote for Election Day, which will be Nov. 5. “I tell the seniors year after year,” McCall said. “If the senior class were to go vote, they could alter Collin County politics.”
Growing importance of youth voting this election cycle
As she leads the class, choir director Crystal Chamberlain prepares to check in with her students. Chamberlain leads the choir program alongside director Tate Keen. This year, choir students will go on a trip to Fort Worth. Due to the new district travel policies, fine art programs can only travel out-of-state for trips that aren't for competition once every four years.

"We need to secure another district win to accomplish our goal of becoming district champions," senior Davis Carte said. "We've been preparing all week and if we keep producing like we have been I know we will."

Looking at a bracelet handed to them from the crowd, seniors and Princess and Prince Julie Acevedo and Brandon Rodriguez wave to the crowd. Acevedo and Rodriguez are both involved in choir. "I love how the Prosper community comes together for Homecoming," Acevedo said. "Seeing friends and family at the parade is always so much fun."

Reaching with one hand above her head, senior Hannah Lee successfully blocks another shot. Lee is the only senior girl on the varsity team, and has been playing water polo for four years. “I am eternally grateful for the experiences and memories Prosper Water Polo has given me,” Lee said, “And I will carry them with me throughout my life.”

As he directs the tubas, senior Hank Carbajal sets up for another rep. This is his fourth year in the band program. "The hardest part about band camp I would say is the heat," Carbajal said. "It really gets to you when you when you have to wait for directions."

Breaking through their defense, junior Brady Harris gets through Westlake players to help his team in the fourth quarter. In the last few minutes, even when the team was losing, Prosper was able to push through. Prosper ended up with a loss 35-14.

One foot in front of the other, senior Erin Young stays ahead of the race. This year marks her fourth year with the cross country and track program. “What I enjoy most about running cross country is the thing that I love most – the people, the people make it the best, like just having your friends alongside you. Even for those hard moments and those hard runs, they help you push through,” Young said. “Even when you're like thinking, oh my gosh, this sucks. This is hard, they're going through the same thing with you. And it just makes a close knit environment. Everyone is so happy all the time. So like, cross country is a really nice and, super sweet environment.”

According to freshman Eli Deutsch, the Rangers' season is about to end, and they are not going to make the playoffs this season. "Their stats show they've played under expectations and lots have gone wrong for them this year," Deutsch said. Head bowed, junior Justin Alfano leads the team in prayer after the game. Alfano plays as the second string quarterback. "I thought it was great I was able to be a part of my team and lead the team in prayer because I like to share my faith in every way I can and spread His name, word, and gospel," Alfano said. "Being able to do that with my team made me really happy."
Football takes homecoming game win
Hand on helmet, head coach Tyler Moore congratulates junior Lathon Latiolais on a successful play. Latiolais caught four passes at Friday's game and totaled 103 yards. "We just went out there and do what we do," Latiolais said. "Defense and offense went out there and did their job so we played a great game and it showed."
Tyler Moore continues to bring coaching passion to Prosper

This offensive line includes senior Logan Cahill who is committed to play Division I football at Sam Houston State University. "My biggest take away from the game was that as a team we have the capability to be great," Cahill said. "I believe and I am all in for this team working and bonding together through the thick and thin. We need to stay locked in this season on both sides of the ball."

She has a passion for fashion and a mind for mental health. Outside of school, you can find relaxing to music with her mom, practicing band with her drum line, or planning her outfit for tomorrow.
