While some students turn to local businesses for jobs, one Prosper High School student decided to pave his own path by launching his own pressure washing company.
“I had the idea in my mind for so long, and I just didn’t do anything about it,” senior Eli Heintz said. “What started everything was my friend giving me his dad’s old pressure washer because he had heard me talking about it so much, and that is what started everything.”
Starting with just one pressure washer and a simple idea, Heintz’s business, Rapid Renew Exteriors, has been performing well for over a year.
“There were a lot of kinks along the way, but eventually, I sanded those out,” Heintz said. “I upgraded my equipment and I was able to do driveways, sidewalks, and walkways.”
Along with running a business, Heintz is a member of the football team, where he plays as an offensive linebacker.
“I like to be able to manage my time,” Heintz said. “So, doing this for work has been great, being able to use my time well.”
Heintz began his business by cleaning trash bins, but, since then, has expanded to many services, including pressure washing and window cleaning.
“It’s great to have someone local to help out with these services,” customer Thu Multer said. “It’s special to be able to support students as well.”
Challenged by the obstacles of running a business but driven by passion, Heintz aims to inspire others to chase their own dreams while pursuing his own.
“One important lesson I’ve learned is that the only thing stopping you from doing what you want to do is yourself,” Heintz said. “Don’t be afraid to go out and start anything that you want to do.”
