Author Kwame Alexander to present at schools
A poster advertising Kwame Alexander’s presentation hangs near the arena where the author will be presenting on Monday, Oct. 1. “I believe it is important for students to go to hear about reading from an accomplished author,” PHS librarian Jenna Hutt said. “I listened to a podcast recently that Kwame Alexander was featured on, and he has a true passion for writing books for students about topics that are important to them.”

Today, Oct. 1, Kwame Alexander will present in the high school arena.
He will present to K-5 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and 6-12 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Alexander writes books and poetry aimed at children and teens.
He is the award-winning author of The Crossover and has written other stories such as Booked and Surf’s Up for his younger audience.
“He is an amazing speaker,” PHS librarian Jenna Hutt said. “He is sure to teach and entertain everyone that attends.”
