Arm ‘pumping’ into the air, offensive coordinator Malcolm Hill hypes up the players during warmups. “We look at film to see if what we worked on throughout the week held up in the game,” Hill said. “And, if we’re doing things right, that puts us in the position to be successful.”

Last week, Prosper won their annual district win against Denton Braswell, 38-21. The Eagles have upheld a perfect district season, only taking a pre-district loss to Rockwall High School. The Allen Eagles took their first season loss last Friday, to the Denton Guyer Wildcats– an opponent that brought a close game for Prosper this season.

We have bigger things to do than just making the playoffs. We need to stay locked in and focused on it (a district championship).

— Head Coach Tyler Moore

This rivalry, highly anticipated by fans from both sides of the ball, is especially notable. Considering Allen’s loss to the Wildcats gave Prosper the ultimate boost to earn the #1 District Title. Last season, Prosper took the win, 29-24 – a close game for both teams and continued the win streak that began in 2021, causing an extreme upset.

Prosper heads into this game with a 7-1 record, while their opponent heads in with a 5-3 record – a slight difference from last year, where Prosper went in with a 7-1 season record, and Allen brought a 6-2 overall record. While Prosper has no losses in district play, Allen just lost to Denton Guyer, a notable opponent for both teams.

The Prosper Eagles hold the top position in 6A Region 1, District 5, just one step ahead of Allen, who stands at second, according to MaxPreps. The successful season has placed Prosper at 11th in the state.

Really what we look for is always continuing to give good effort. Are we doing our assignment, and do we want to be out there?

— Offensive Coordinator Malcolm Hill
