  • You can log in to prosper.voting4schools.com to vote for your 2022 HOCO King and Queen. Voting is open to all students in all grades. Voting ends on Thursday, Sept. 29.
  • The National Technical Honors Society is holding its first full chapter meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 8:15 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. in Mr. Claypoole’s class located at room 1259. If you are a CTE student interested in joining the Prosper chapter, or are a student previously in NTHS, feel free to attend the meeting.
  • Senior lunches will be held every two weeks on Fridays. The second senior lunch will be Sept. 30, followed by Oct. 21. Students who have early release are not required to return for 4th period.
  • Hispanic Heritage Month started Sept. 15 and will continue through Oct. 15.
  • Talonettes would like to congratulate Mr. Atkinson for Talonette teacher of the week.
  • The Homecoming parade is Wednesday, Sept. 28. The dance will take place Saturday, Oct. 1.
  • Oct. 5 is the end of the first 9 weeks.
  • Oct. 6 is a Professional Learning day as well as a student holiday. Oct. 7 – 10 are student holidays.

The Practicum of Horticulture students are holding a “Flower Bar” event Sept. 22, before and after school in room 1159. The students personally planned out the entire experience, including planning, pricing, and ordering flowers. Uplifting

Walnut Grove High School is officially scheduled to open in fall 2023 for grades 9-12, a year ahead of schedule. Zoning will be released for review Oct. 3. Eighth graders, freshmen and sophomores in the 2022-2023 school year will be rezoned to Walnut Grove after attendance boundaries are determined. Current juniors will have the choice to attend their current school or Walnut Grove once boundaries are set.
