Eagle Update

  • The daily schedule for Prosper High School has been changed from last year’s. The school day will now start at 8:45 a.m. and end at 4:10 p.m. Click here for more information.
  • Chromebook pickup days are as follows: Wednesday is seniors and juniors, Thursday is sophomores, Friday is freshmen.
  • PISD has created a brief with information regarding the first day of school, transportation and retrieving new Chromebook passwords here.

  • To change your classes, email your counselor. Counselors are assigned by last name order and can be reached via email or by requesting an in-person visit to their office.

Upcoming

In June, the Prosper Theater Department took 24 students to compete, perform and learn at the International Thespian Festival in Indiana. “To be able to compete, you had to receive top ratings at the state level, which all of these students did in November,” Director of Theater Vicki Kirkley said. “We competed against the best in the world and all but one of these students won at the International Thespian Festival receiving the highest ratings available.”
  • Varsity volleyball will be playing away at the Battle of the Rock Tournament at Rockhill on Friday, Aug. 12 at 8 a.m. as well as on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 8 a.m.
  • Varsity girls water polo will play against John Paul II on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at home at 5 p.m.
  • 9th A volleyball and JV volleyball will play against Wakeland on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at home at 5:30 p.m.
  • Varsity boys water polo will play against John Paul II on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at home at 6:00 pm.
  • 9th B volleyball and Varsity volleyball will play against Wakeland on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at home at 6:30 pm.
  • Varsity volleyball will play against Northwest ISD away on Thursday, Aug. 18, at 9 a.m.

Uplifting

  • Eagle Nation Online welcomes a new round of staff for the 2022-2023 school year. Profiles will be updated throughout the year and can be viewed here.
  • According to the Prosper Fire Department’s Twitter account, monthly siren drills will occur on the first Wednesday of each month (weather permitting). The first drill took place Wednesday, Aug. 3.
  • All lanes of traffic on First and Coleman have reopened, according to the Prosper Fire Department.

  • Plans for new schools in Prosper have already been discussed at the PISD Board of Trustees’ meeting on July 18. Joyce Hall Elementary will open in August 2022. Walnut Grove High School is on schedule to open in August 2024. The district has begun the early stages of construction for elementary no. 16 and the Prosper ISD early childhood school.
  • 8/4 – Birthday of Barack Obama: Happy Birthday to the United States’ first Black president!
  • 8/9 – International Day of the World’s Indigenous People (United Nations): created by the UN, celebrates the cultures of indigenous peoples around the world. More information on holidays regarding diversity can be found here.
