News Brief: Relay for Life to bring celebration, charity

Relay for Life will be held at the PHS track this Friday, April 22, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Entry will be free, and people who would like to participate in the carnival games at the booths will need to pay for tickets.

To dedicate a Luminaria, use this link. Luminarias honor lost loved ones, people battling cancer or anyone who’s overcome it. At the event, there will be a moment of silence as they’re lit. The price of the Luminarias go toward the American Cancer Society.

Breast cancer survivors hope to 'be a light,' inspire others with their stories

Mills, Krempin and Hollingsworth-Ervin are breast cancer survivors and were honored at the pep rally. It is important to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month because it is time for us to not only advocate for the diagnosed women and men, but also to remember those who have previously lost their battle, senior Tiana Albino said. As we recognize this month, more and more people become educated when it comes to the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and ultimately save more lives we as promote awareness as a whole.
Pink-out pep rally honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Waving their pom-poms, junior varsity cheerleaders dance to the bands music. Although the pep rally was for sophomores and seniors in person, all of the cheer team was able to attend. Pep rallies are fun because we are just with our teammates, and we get to support our teams, sophomore cheerleader Meredith Wright said. The pink-out theme was really cool, too.
