Eagle Brief: Nov. 16-20

As the theatre department prepares for their upcoming winter show, senior Grayson Aron tunes his guitar. The theatre department will film their virtual December show this week. “Moments to Moments” is a combination of scenes, songs, and student-made poems about love, body image and mental health. The show has a gold and black color scheme to support the Hope Squad.

To keep track of the number of PISD COVID-19 cases, the dashboard explains the total number of students and faculty and the number of COVID-19 cases in the district.
To take precaution against COVID-19, the district recommends to follow these Children’s Health tips.

A thanksgiving food drive event is accepting donations from Oct. 31 to Nov. 22. For more information, click here.
This week is homecoming week, and the dress up days are linked here.

Upcoming

Boys basketball will play away against Rockwall Nov. 17.
Girls basketball will play Rockwall-Heath at home Nov. 17.
The junior class ring ceremony will be held virtually in the auditorium Nov. 17.
Eagle Nation News will play live on Nov. 19 during Eagle Time.
The homecoming pep rally will occur on Nov. 20 during second period in-person for juniors and seniors and virtually streamed for the rest of the school.
The football team will play their homecoming game at home against Denton Braswell Nov. 20.
Boys basketball will play against Jesuit at home Nov. 20.
Girls basketball plays Rockwall away Nov. 20.
Swim and dive will compete at the Bruce Eubanks Natatorium Nov. 20.

Uplifting

The Prosper Competitive Shooting Team competed in two Trap events in the month of November, with both middle school and high school students claiming multiple medals.

Going into our Homecoming week, we are currently ranked #16 in all of 6A (245 teams). We are currently ranked #18 in Texas regardless of classification (1487 teams). Grace Williamson is the 2020-2021 Editor-in-Chief of Eagle Nation Online. This is her third year on the school newspaper, and she was previously the 2019-2020 sports editor. She plans to strengthen the newspaper as a team, and help promote brilliant reporting and coverage this year. Following graduation, she plans to major in criminal justice at a currently undecided college. Eagle Nation News is the broadcast news outlet for Prosper High School and the surrounding community, broadcasting online to students and viewers from around the world. The ENN broadcast journalists and the ENO newspaper journalists work together to bring award-winning student news program coverage to the readers and viewers who want, need and enjoy the news coming out of PHS. The ENN staff has accumulated multiple Pacemaker and Lone Star EMMY awards. The weekly broadcast airs live on Fridays at 11:37 a.m. ENN is student-produced and features high school student activities and accomplishments along with a teen perspective on world, national and local news.
