Tennis team wins 1st season match, looks to play Little Elm

What: Wins 12-7 against Plano East

When: 4:30 p.m. – with a slight delay until 9 p.m.

Where: PHS Home Courts

A note from coach Mandy Weaver:

“Good evening everyone! The Prosper Varsity Tennis Team won their first match tonight against Plano East, 12-7. Coach Cunningham and I are so excited and proud of them! If you see any tennis athletes tomorrow around school, please make sure to tell them good job! They played very hard tonight!”

We have our first district match on Friday at 4:30pm against Little Elm at Little Elm HS.

Christi Norris was born in Colorado, but for most of her life, she's called Seattle, Washington, home. She moved to Prosper in the summer of 2019 and has loved it ever since. Christi is a senior who is passionate about photography, podcasting and writing. She is excited to fill the role of Chief Operating Officer and Editor of Multimedia for the 2021-2022 school year and can't wait to help other journalists grow and achieve their goals. In her spare time, you can often find her working at a plant shop, reading books or watching movies. Christi will be attending Brigham Young University this summer and majoring in communications.

Caroline Wilburn, Sports Editor

Caroline Wilburn, a senior, has lived in Prosper, Texas, since 2010. This is her second year on staff, and she holds the position of sports editor this year. In addition, she serves on the editorial board for Eagle Nation Online. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with friends, family and her dogs. She also plays for the varsity tennis team and looks forward to combining her love for sports and journalism together.
