Boys basketball took their 7th loss of the season Tuesday night against the Little Elm Lobos. The game remained close throughout, until the Lobos pulled away with a 20 point 4th quarter to take the game 61-50. The leading scorers for Prosper once again were junior forward Zach Wrightsil with 19 points, and sophomore  guard Josh Davis with 12.

The loss marks Prosper’s 3rd district defeat of the season, and puts them in 6th place in district 14-5A. The Eagles have nine games left to play if they want to climb up the district standings and reach the playoffs. They play crucial games against second-place McKinney North, and first-place Little Elm for the second time. However, both of these games will be on the road, so the path to victory for the Eagles is sure to be harder than the first.

With nine games left to play and a subpar 2-3 district record, it’s really time for the team to “wake up” and focus on these last games. The play of Josh Davis and Zach Wrightsil has been nothing short of outstanding, but most of the others on the team need to step up in a big way. This season was off to a very promising start, and it would be a disappointment if it ended without a playoff run.
