Boys basketball started their season Tuesday night on the right track with a 58-44 win over Frisco Lone Star. Sophomore Josh Davis had a team high in scoring with 28 points, while Coach Jonathan Ellis obtained a milestone in his coaching career by reaching 200 wins.

Before coming to Prosper, Ellis coached at both Mellisa and Carrollton Creekview high schools, leading  them to sound records. Ellis is also the former President of the North Texas Basketball Coaches Association. Congratulations to Coach Ellis on a great career thus far.

For the players, the only sophomore on the team, Josh Davis, notably lead in scoring with 28 points. Another young player, junior Kyle Jessen, finished second on the team in scoring Tuesday by dropping 8 points of his own. A foundation of youth is a great thing to have for a Propser team that is looking to compete not only this year, but for the next few seasons as well.

Tuesday was a great start for the team, and most importantly Coach Ellis. Prosper has almost a full week to rest before they face Argyle Liberty Christian at home next Monday.
