Lightning strikes across the sky over North Texas. According to Weather.com meteorologists, isolated thunderstorms can be expected today, May 12, followed by clouds tomorrow. Photojournalist Jesse Plaster took this shot Monday, May 4. I always like taking photos of weather events, Plaster said. Essentially, I got a shot of lightning as it was in the clouds.

Ledbetter Park - and others - sit empty, not just because of COVID 19 stay-at-home orders, but also because of the weather. A temporary resurgence of winter weather offered residents temperatures that included lows in the 30s, closer to those of Christmas, on this past Easter weekend. A cold front came through the Dallas-Fort Worth area Saturday, creating some gusty winds topping out at almost 40 miles per hour. The front also made for thunderstorms in the area. The Weather Channel forecasts more spring-like temperatures by this Wednesday, however, with the high projected to reach a possible 64 degrees.
