As they hit the final pose, the senior Talonettes perform the second dance of the day alongside the team. This marked the last contest of the season. The last performance for the Talonettes will be on April 24-26 in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m.

Upcoming

  • Senior students and parents, here’s an opportunity to be recognized in Prosper High School’s print newspaper, Eagle Nation Times. ENT is selling ads featuring seniors, which will be published in the next issue. More info can be found by scanning the QR code.
  • Come see the district Vertical Art Show on Thursday, April 3rd, on campus at PHS! Features work from elementary and middle school and our very own PHS art! The show will be open from 5:30 to 8:00 pm.
  • The Prosper Talonettes will host team tryouts for the 2025-2026 season on April 1-3, and audition day will be on April 4.
  • Now through April 4th, drop plastic bags in the HEB Recycling bin in the PHS Cafe to celebrate Earth Day! Bags include plastic shopping, produce, bread, newspaper, or dry-cleaning.
  • The Talonettes spring show “The Game of Life” will be on April 24-25 at 6:30 in the Auditorium.

Uplifting

  • The Prosper Talonettes competed at MA Nationals on March 28-29. The Talonettes received Nationals Champions for their Jazz, Contemporary, and Novelty routines. The Contemporary routine was the highest-scoring contemporary of the whole competition. The Officers received Nationals Champions for their Hip Hop and Contemporary and the 17-18 Social Officer category! The Elite Team was named Grand National Champions in the Elite Category! The Talonettes ended the competition in 2nd place in their division and 4th place overall out of 22 schools! Furthermore, the Talonettes were honored with the Hamilton Innovation Award for their innovative choreography, an accolade only given to six teams!
  • The Prosper Varsity guard competed in the NTCA NA State competition on March 29-30 at the Colony High School with their show titled ‘The Luckiest’. The Prosper Guard placed 1st out of 34 guards in their first round at prelims, and 4th place at finals out of 12 finalist guards.
  • HOSA had its blood drive two weeks ago. They collected 101 pints of blood from a goal of 94 – potentially saving 303 lives.
  • The next senior lunch is on April 11. All seniors will be released at 1:33 p.m.

Waves rolling, sophomore Elizabeth Cohorn relaxes on the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama during spring break. This was her first time going. "I had a great time in Gulf Shores," Cohorn said. "It was very peaceful, and it was nice reading a book while hearing the ocean waves."

Eyes ahead, freshman Alysson Nwabueze approaches the finish line. The 800-meter run began at 1 p.m. The event was held at the Prosper High School Track and Field.

After competing at their last regional contest of the season, the Prosper High School Talonettes finished 1st overall for the entire competition. The Talonettes got first place for all of their 12 routines. Their last competition is March 28 & 29 where they will compete at Nationals.

Crowding together, players on the varsity baseball team speak to each other in between innings. In this game, there were 14 innings since it was a scrimmage. "I've been playing baseball since 5th grade," varsity player (add grade) Alejandro 'AJ' Sanabria said. "I like how competitive it is."
Eagle Brief: Feb. 24 – 28
As students cheer, the Prosper wrestling team gets recognized before they head off to the state meet. The team competed over the weekend. Senior Jack Ringger took first runner up in the state meet.
Eagle Brief: Feb. 18 – 21
Under the lights, Isaiah Johnson returns to one of Trisha Weyenberg's classes since he graduated in 2017. He lives in Kansas City for his job and travels around the country to speak in classrooms. "Don't listen to people, because you can make money and be happy," Romeo said. "And, I could be an example of that. I do what I love." Another seperate article is coming out on Isaiah soon.

Sports Brief: Boys golf place 2nd in district, qualify for regionals
Standing behind the podium, Parks Administration Assistant Director Kurt Beilharz presents the Doe Branch Park Master Plan to the Parks and Recreation Committee. Doe Branch is currently in its design stage and is waiting to be approved by the town council. "First we want to identify a design consultant, and we usually hire architecture and engineering firms or landscape architecture firms," Beilharz said. "We get a firm on board, and then we look for public input. Once we have their input, then we put together what's called a concept plan."

In a graphic created by senior Jake Radcliffe, the words "'MUSIC' ALBUM REVIEW" are depicted in the style of the album cover for rapper Playboi Carti's third album, "MUSIC." The album released March 14. "On one hand, 'MUSIC' is a messy, much-too-long album full of incomplete-sounding songs that almost reminds me of the raw sound of a mixtape," Radcliffe said. "On the other hand, 'MUSIC' is also a bold genre-bending, high-energy opus that represents the rapper’s growth as an artist."

At the face paint station, senior Fiona Adams painted a smiley face. Multiple tables were set up with different schools and their Hope Squad programs, as well as other organizations. "I enjoy seeing all the little kids," Adams said. "I'm doing the face paints and it's really fun to make the designs and like customize it for what they want."

Senior Sofia Ayala leads Eagle Nation Online as Editor-in-Chief. This is her fourth year working for Eagle Nation Online.
