School board meeting celebrates staff

Bravery, diligence, integrity recognized by Prosper ISD leadership

Standing together, Prosper paramedics and attendees engage in conversation before the meeting starts. These paramedics were invited to the meeting to receive the Life Saving Award as they played a vital role in saving Dr. Greg Bradley's life.

 

Who: School administration, EMT paramedics, and school board members.

What: Attendees get their accomplishments and acts of bravery recognized by Prosper ISD leadership.

When: Nov. 19 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Prosper ISD Administration Building

What’s Next? The next school board meeting is Dec. 12 at 7 p.m., but usually the meetings occur on the third Monday of every Month at 7 p.m.

Eagle Brief: Dec. 16 – 20
Playing a crucial role in the logistics of Civic Leaders of America, Texas Chief of Staff senior Mara Gonzalez Moral addresses the room with confidence. CLA is an entirely student-led organization with the mission of fostering civic engagement among high schoolers through regular debates, local conventions, information about current events, activism and volunteering opportunities. "Being a part of CLA has truly been the most rewarding activity of my high school years," Moral said. "I hope that if you join as well, you will find that you experience can be just as incredible."

As he takes a break from his column, freshman Jah'siah Dennis stops to check in in with photographer and teammate sophomore Mark Carbajal. Before this picture, Dennis had been working on publishing the attached column. "You should never be scared to move schools," Dennis said. "A new place could always be better."

Outside of the MPF, cars line up in the parking lot to escape the rain. Traffic was formed due to the traffic patterns and the number of cars in the parking lot. An announcement for upperclassmen to leave early was made in an attempt to prevent traffic, but traffic formed regardless.

Arms up, senior Hannah Lee smiles at the camera. Lee is the only senior on the girls varsity team. "The best part about the season was being able to have successful games," Lee said. "And have a memorable senior year."

On Dec. 10, Max Preps ranked the boys varsity basketball team as No. 13 in Texas and No. 4 in the region. Prosper Varsity 'sweeps' crosstown rivals
Hooked up to the machine that collects your blood, senior Nicole Rendon waits as her blood is drawn. The blood drive was hosted by HOSA where they partnered with Carter Blood Care. “Honestly, I’ve never (donated blood) before, and I wanted to try it, and plus you get a chord too if you donate twice,” Rendon said. “I was nervous at first, but honestly it wasn’t that bad.”

Hands clapping, senior Branson Reeves gets the crowd loud. Prosper is currently ranked 21st in the state. "My goal for the rest of the season is to get at least one more touchdown," Reeves said. "I also want us to get through the playoffs at least through the third round."
Football defeats Princeton, looks forward to playing Plano West
While the audience watches, junior Boyd Mueller sings into a microphone. Mueller plays Hades. Prosper Theatre's "Hadestown: Teen Edition" was chosen to be performed at the Main Stage at the Texas Thespian State Festival in Grapevine. "Generally, Main Stage is a privilege almost exclusively given to private fine art schools," stage manager senior Annabelle Nugent said. "The fact that a public school like Prosper is getting Main Stage is fantastic. Simply, it means that we are at the level of schools who specifically draft for stuff like fine arts and singing and dancing ability, and it's really a compliment to our actors and our technicians."
Prosper Theatre shows varsity musical
Holding up a 'Smile for Sadie' sign, senior Gavin Teague and junior Alyssa Milner stand in the Talonette section. The Talonettes performed a dance dedicated to their teammate Sadie Neddo. A prayer was held at the end of the game to honor her.
Eagles come out with close win over McKinney Lions
As she holds her medal, senior Regan Reed laughs with family and friends. Reed finished in 17th place on the varsity girl's team. The teams run the UIL 6A–District 6 meet tomorrow.

Aarushi Rana, originally from Connecticut, is a junior at Prosper High School. This is her first year on Eagle Nation Online and she serves as a reporter. In her free time, she enjoys painting, reading and watching movies. Through ENO, she hopes to enhance her literature skills.
