Track takes runner-up in district, advances to area meet

What’s next? Qualifiers will compete at the Area Track Meet on April 12 at 9 a.m. hosted at Denton Braswell High School.

Every day, the buses arrive at school to pick up students and bring them places. Thanks to the district's new travel policies, these buses will rarely be used to go out of state. The policies affect programs in the Fine arts and Career Technical Education Department.
Editorial: District's travel guidelines affect students negatively
Ready for questions, HOSA's information table about the blood drive stands organized outside of the cafeteria during lunch. The table will be out two weeks prior to the event. "During lunches, like any lunch you have, you just go up to that table and then they'll give you more information," said sophomore Maryam Alshawi, HOSA member. "And you can make an appointment."

Hands clapping, senior Branson Reeves gets the crowd loud. Prosper is currently ranked 21st in the state. "My goal for the rest of the season is to get at least one more touchdown," Reeves said. "I also want us to get through the playoffs at least through the third round."
Football defeats Princeton, looks forward to playing Plano West
While the audience watches, junior Boyd Mueller sings into a microphone. Mueller plays Hades. Prosper Theatre's "Hadestown: Teen Edition" was chosen to be performed at the Main Stage at the Texas Thespian State Festival in Grapevine. "Generally, Main Stage is a privilege almost exclusively given to private fine art schools," stage manager senior Annabelle Nugent said. "The fact that a public school like Prosper is getting Main Stage is fantastic. Simply, it means that we are at the level of schools who specifically draft for stuff like fine arts and singing and dancing ability, and it's really a compliment to our actors and our technicians."
Prosper Theatre shows varsity musical
Holding up a 'Smile for Sadie' sign, senior Gavin Teague and junior Alyssa Milner stand in the Talonette section. The Talonettes performed a dance dedicated to their teammate Sadie Neddo. A prayer was held at the end of the game to honor her.
Eagles come out with close win over McKinney Lions
As she holds her medal, senior Regan Reed laughs with family and friends. Reed finished in 17th place on the varsity girl's team. The teams run the UIL 6A–District 6 meet tomorrow.
Cross-country teams prepare for UIL 6A–District 6 championships
Helmet in air, the Prosper Eagle football team celebrates Coach Eric Mach's birthday after the win. The team is currently 3–0 in district play, ranking second. "We need to secure another district win to accomplish our goal of becoming district champions," senior Davis Carte said. "We've been preparing all week and if we keep producing like we have been I know we will."
Football takes win in 'Pride of Prosper' matchup
Taking a breath during the Alma Mater, junior Logan Thompson shuts his eyes and sings along to the music as the band plays. The game ended with a score of 42-16 and breaking Plano East's undefeated streak. The next game will be home against the Rock Hill Bluehawks at a game called "Battle Against the Birds," along with a Reynolds night, where eight-grade students in band from Reynolds can come to the game for free and interact with Prosper students in band and color guard.

Standing in green Malcom Hill continues his passion for football as a coach. This marks his second year working for Prosper High School. "I kind of fell in love with the sport in middle school," Hill said. "Played it throughout high school and up until college.”

Huddled up, the team gathers to talk before the start of practice. The team began their practice during off–season to prepare for its games in the spring. The practice was held at the PHS baseball field.
Baseball gets into halloween spirit with practice
Kneeled to the ground, senior Leo Anguiano prays on the sideline before the first quarter starts. He earned the title "Offensive MVP" for this game, along with several others. The game was broadcast on WFAA channel 8.
After loss to Allen, Eagles seek Thursday-night home field win
Eyes on the clock, senior Sophie Bridges focuses on the game. This is Bridge's fourth year in the volleyball program. She has committed to the Air Force Academy, where she will play on their volleyball team next fall.
Prosper faces 1–3 loss against Allen Eagles
After a hold from Plano's offense, senior Blake Summers successfully intercepts the ball and runs to a first down. Summers plays cornerback for the Eagles. "I think I produced pretty good," Summers said. "Learning through all the defense, routes, and placement; we came out with a win."

Hand on the ball, no. 63 freshman Drew Alderton prepares to snap the ball to the quarterback. This is Alderton's first year playing center in the football program. This marked the fifth home game.

Kaya Miller, originally from Los Angeles, California, moved to Prosper, Texas in 2017. She attends Prosper High School as a senior. This is her third year on staff, and she is co-editor-in-chief of Eagle Nation Online and editor-in-chief of the print newspaper Eagle Nation Times. Miller is on the Prosper debate team as historian. She is also president of the Spanish Honor Society. Miller is also on the Dallas Rowing Club Juniors team. In her free time, she enjoys baking and playing guitar.
