Monday, April 17, a sendoff was held for the robotics team in honor of their advancing to the first Robotics World Championship, which will be held April 19-22 in Houston. 5411 RoboTalons and 9105 TechnoTalons will be competing with the top robotics teams from over 20 countries. This is the first time in PHS history that two teams have qualified for worlds.

We are excited to host a dodgeball tournament after school at 4:30 p.m. on May 3 in Gym #1! Please see the attached flyer for more details. Quick Info: Teams of six with one team captain. No alternates, but you can play short. $15/team (CASH ONLY) to play. The team captain is responsible for turning in the team’s money to the Upper House. There will be both student and staff teams. Bonus: matching colors or costumes are encouraged!
  • The Junior/Senior Prom will be on Saturday, May 6 from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. at The Marriott at Legacy Town Center.
  • May 3 is the deadline for the “Reversing the slide” program, which allows graduating seniors up to six credit hours (about two classes) for free this summer. Apply to Collin if you haven’t already (not necessary for current dual credit students) clear all holds and complete pre-registration steps.
  • Prosper Guard auditions will take place on April 24-27 at 4:30 p.m. in Gym 1
  • A Powerlifting banquet will take place Monday, April 24 from 6-8 p.m. at the Children’s Health Community Room.

  • The PHS fashion show will be held in the PHS Auditorium on Tuesday, April 25 from 6-8 p.m.

  • All Prosper ISD high school students have free access to national test preparation through Edgenuity. The following courses can be accessed once logged into the student’s PISD account: PSAT, SAT, ACT, and TSIA2.

  • The Prosper ISD School Board election is on May 6 this year. A “Meet the Candidates” event will take place today, April 20, at 6 p.m. in the Children’s Health Stadium.
  • PCIS presentation night will be held on April 25 at 6 p.m. at Rock Hill HS.
  • May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

The following art students will compete at the state level on Saturday, April 29 in San Marcos, TX: Avery Canuteson, Gray Haviland, Miriam Kassem, Cal Kindiger, Kiera Payne, Linda Thai, Anna Wren, Kamila Cudzich, Carolina Miao, Leah Muhia, Evelyn Paolo, Elisa Arbaiza and Marina Wassef.

Prosper Engineering Team is sending two robotics teams to the FIRST Robotics World Championship April 19-22 in Houston. 5411 RoboTalons and 9105 TechnoTalons will be competing with the top robotics teams from over 20 countries. This is the first time in school history that two teams have qualified for worlds. At state, 9105 won the award for the highest-ranked rookie team and 5411 won the sustainability award. In 2016, the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth created “20 Under 20” as part of the Global Young Leaders Program. This initiative honors 20 exceptional high school students under the age of 20 who are active in their local Junior World Affairs Council club (JWAC). The following five PHS students received this honor for 2022-2023. They will receive their awards in a ceremony this spring and will participate in a week-long leadership conference this summer: Chiemeka Nzewunwah, Diego Donald, Sarayu Chitturi, Rachel Price and Zoe Phillips.
