Soccer season continues, spring ‘Meet the Eagles’ honors athletes

Neena Sidhu is a senior at Prosper High School and is the Chief Operating Officer for Eagle Nation Online. Before she moved to Prosper in 2018, she lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and lived there her whole life. This is her third year on staff and is also involved in the Football Operations Department.

Alyssa Clark is a senior, and this is her second year on staff. She was the social media director last year, and can't wait to direct the opinion page this year. In her free time, she can be found grabbing coffee with friends, or playing with her dogs. She plans on attending college after high school, and to major in psychology.

I know this year most of our seniors will have the chance to vote during the fall for the 2024 election between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, senior Juliana Cruz said. I cannot wait for my first ballot to be completed right next to my dad as it is the year I entered adulthood and quick chance to execute a new, open freedom.

  • Eyes on the ball, freshman Samantha Tovar tries to block out the opponent. The Eagles end the season and make school history as they achieved their 1-0 win against Westlake during state finals. Along with this win, the Eagles are ranked no. 1 in state.

  • Lighting the path, members of the community honor student made lanterns across the track. The path glowed for students and community members once the sun set. The student council helps organize Relay for Life annually at PHS in the month of April.

    Community unites through student-council-sponsored ‘Relay for Life’

  • Members of the NeuroNext Foundation, including founder junior Anisha Mandem, display some of the donations they collected for the Cook Children’s Hospital. The team donated more than 50 new books and toys to the hospital. Those participating in this Tuesday, Jan. 2, event at the hospital include hospital volunteer coordinator Erin Cockrill, junior Vivaan Moharir, junior Litesh Danesh, junior Katya Kondragunta, Mandem, junior Kavya Kondragunta and senior Riley Wanasek. Only a few days remain in the organization’s current donation drive, which wraps up Thursday, April 18. “Helping with fundraisers and seeing that the work we do has helped children has strengthened my interest in medicine, and it makes me want to continue helping people, Vijayakumar said. I feel like I have made a positive impact on people’s lives by being a part of NNF.

    Non-profit foundation raises awareness for individuals with disabilities

  • Running toward the ball, sophomore Ava Germany dribbles past her opponent. It felt great to make it to state, Germany said. The games leading up were all games that had people biting their nails. It came down to the last minute in every playoff game it felt like. I think the biggest challenge our team faced during state was confidence. Everyone believed in us to win we just had to believe in ourselves and even with the result we got I believe we could have been more confident.
