Varsity volleyball loses against Allen Eagles 3-2

Team honors seniors in last home game

After a winning set, the team crowds together to celebrate. The team won both the second and third sets 25-22. “Allen was a tough opponent,” senior Kendall Hewitt said. “I’m so proud of the girls for fighting the entire game, especially the underclassmen who really stepped up.” (Alyssa Clark)

 

Blocking the ball, sophomores Allie Duitsman and Ayden Ames jump in the air. Both students play as outside hitters. The varsity volleyball team is currently fourth in district, according to MaxPreps. (Alyssa Clark)

 

During a subsitition, senior Jazzlyn Ford holds junior Ella Chaney’s hand. The game went into five sets. “I was extremely sad that we ended up losing such a tough game especially on our senior night,” Chaney said. “But on the bright side, we did get to celebrate the seniors.” (Alyssa Clark)

 

Ready for the serve, junior Callie Kieffer, sophomore Kennedy Smith and senior Hayley Harrington wait. The Prosper volleyball team is ranked 60th in the nation, according to MaxPreps. “Senior night last night was one to remember,” senior Kamryn Vanatta said. “I will never forget this team and all of the memories created here in the PVB program.” (Alyssa Clark)

 

Excited after a long volley, the team celebrates. There is six players on the court at a time in volleyball. “The game against Allen was tough but we weren’t at our best as a team,” senior Kamryn Vanatta said. “I think with some minor tweaks, we will be unstoppable.” (Alyssa Clark)

 

Standing together, seniors Kendall Hewitt and Jazzlyn Ford stand with head varsity coach Erin Kauffman, as well as seniors Kamryn Vanatta and Hayley Harrington. The Prosper Eagles won the second and third set of the game. “I know you (the underclassmen) hear this all the time, but high school truly passes by in the blink of an eye,” Hewitt said. “Go out and make as many memories as you can. Passing a frame and flowers to teammate senior Jazzlyn Ford, junior Ella Chaney embraces the moment. This was varsity volleyball’s last home game of the normal season. “I met Jazzlyn Ford my freshman year and we have been inseperatble ever since,” Chaney said. “She has been such a rock for me and my family. She has completely changed my high school experience and I’m so proud to call her my best friend. I’m definitely going to miss her next year.” (Alyssa Clark)
