Eagle Brief: Oct. 13-16
Starting off the foggy morning invitational, senior Abishai Aryee catches up to her competition. Placing No. 12 in the varsity women’s 5-kilometer run, Aryee ran a final time of 20 minutes and 44 seconds. Junior Aubrey O’Connell won the 5,000-meter race with a time of 17:53.62. “I’m really excited for track season in the spring because we didn’t get much of a season last year, and I think I have a lot more potential,” O’Connell commented when asked about her upcoming track season, aswell.

Eagle Update
- Seniors have off-campus lunch this Friday. Seniors will have from the start of E lunch through F lunch, which is an hour long, but they are expected to return on time for fourth period.
- This week’s PISD Express newsletter released Oct. 16
- Students can order mums and garters through The Mum Shop to support the tennis team.
- The homecoming parade is postponed until Nov. 18 due to an increase in district COVID-19 cases.
- The varsity football team is in quarantine, and the Oct. 16 game against Arlington Lamar is canceled.
- To keep track of the number of PISD COVID-19 cases, the dashboard explains the total number of students and faculty and the number of COVID-19 cases in the district.

- The Talon Radio will air Halloween stories on their station for the month of October.

- The boys basketball team will kick off the first game of their season against Frisco Liberty Oct. 13.
- Volleyball will face McKinney Boyd at their high school gym Oct. 13.
- Students that registered for the SAT or PSAT will take their tests Oct. 14.
- The swim team will compete at the PISD Natatorium Oct. 17.
- The cross country team will race in the NTXC Circuit Oct. 17.
- The PISD school board meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the PISD admin building Oct. 19.
