Diving over his opponent, senior Keaton Nickerson makes his way down the field. Prosper won their first game on Sept. 25 against Prestonwood by 10 points, 27-17. “We really struggled to get in a consistent rhythm, especially offensively, and defensively we gave up too many big plays,” head coach Brandon Schmidt said. “But at the end of the day, we’re one and zero.”

Prosper Football had its first varsity game of the season yesterday on Friday, Sept. 25, against Prestonwood Christian Academy. Prosper won the game 27-17, but this match-up was by no means an easy win. The majority of the game was a back and forth between the Lions and the Eagles taking and then losing the lead. In the end, Prosper pulled far enough ahead in the last half of the fourth quarter to keep Prestonwood at bay for the rest of the game.

“I think there’s a lot of things that we need to clean up,” head coach Brandon Schmidt said. “I think that we really struggled to get into a consistent rhythm especially offensively. Defensively we gave up too many big plays, but at the end of the day we’re one and zero.”

The Eagles will face Rockwall next Friday, Oct. 2., at Rockwall. A full slideshow of photos from Friday’s game will be released soon.
