Prosper looks to take down undefeated Little Elm
September 27, 2017
Two weeks after their 43-7 defeat of Frisco Liberty, Prosper is set to face off against Little Elm Friday night in week 5. The Little Elm Lobos come into Friday night’s matchup without having lost a game this season, with a record of 3-0.
Little Elm is placed 1st in District 14-5A, while Prosper holds the 3rd place spot in the same district. However, the Lobos haven’t played the best competition. They’ve played three teams this season, Bryan Adams, W.T. White, and Irving. All three schools have a combined for one win on the year. Prosper will be Little Elm’s first tough test, so it’s hard to tell if the team is a legit contender in the district.
As for personnel, Little Elm has a few players that have been real game-changers in their first three victories. Running back Corey Moses has an outstanding 7 rushing touchdowns, and quarterback Logan Kohler has 8 touchdowns passing. The total offense has scored 161 points. The defense also hasn’t been too shabby for the Lobos. They’ve held opponents to 160 average yards per game, and forced 5 turnovers.
When looking at Little Elm, they appear to be a top-tier team with a high powered offense, and a scary defense. However, the teams they have faced justify what they’ve accomplished in three games. The Lobos will try to prove the doubters wrong Friday night. The key to victory for Prosper will be to run the ball effectively (like in week 1), and secure the football on offense. If the Eagles do this, and stay focused throughout the entire game, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be handing Little Elm their first loss of the season.
