Seven Students Placed In Debate Tournament

Seven debate students placed in their debate tournament on September 16.
Jasmine Willis-Rosa placed fourth in both Original Story and Congressional Debate.
Wesley Barrett and Addison Wellenberger placed third in Novice Public Forum Debate.
Brandon Carty and Myah Durham placed third in Duo Debate.
Hunter Jordan and Joy Yochem placed first in CX Debate.
“To be honest, I had no idea what I was getting into when I signed up for Debate 1, but I knew that I wanted to work on public speaking and critical thinking skills, which I definitely get out of debate. ‘Debate’ is such a broad term, and not many people know the intricacies of the activity or the dedication it takes to be good at it,” said Joy Yochem.
