XC Runner Up in State

Girls cross country was sent off to state this past Friday by the school and community wishing them luck on their run in Round Rock, Texas for the 5A girls state championship run.

“We have been pushed very hard this pre season and district season” Drobny said, “Coach Greenier knows our limits and knows how to motivate us leading towards state.”

With the team losing two seniors for the upcoming 2017 season it will have a great effect on the team and the way they run.

“Allie Taylor and Abby Williams are the only two seniors on the team,” said Drobny, “Losing them will really effect our team because they are our top runners, but we also have a good chance of filling their shoes next year with some current sophomores and freshmen.”

The girls finished second over sixteen teams and had a tough competition with Frisco Liberty and Canyon Randal.

“While we were waiting f0r the final outcome to be announced, we really bonded as a team,” Lammons said, “Although we finished second, the third place team finished 60 points behind us so they weren’t much of a competition to us. We were neck and neck with the first place team so it was a very good race and we couldn’t be happier with the hard work we put in this season and our second place finish at state.”
