In one of his Instagram posts, Jacob Devenny stands ready to bat. A Rice University logo claims the background space. Devenny committed to Rice on Sept. 16. “I was talking to a couple other schools, and I just decided that Rice was where I wanted to go, Devenny said. I mean, they’re the finest university in Texas, and they have a great baseball program. If I have a degree from there, I can get a job at a lot of places.”

It was two great football teams, and at the end of the day, you know somebodys got to come out on top. Unfortunately, for today, it wasnt us. Im really just very proud. Just proud of these seniors, Im proud of everything this football team has accomplished. Proud of these seniors, everything theyve done for the last four years, theyre leaving this program better than when they got here. This was Schmidts sixth season as the head football coach at Prosper. He started in 2015.

Running along the sideline, senior quarterback Jackson Berry leaves Eaton Players No. 2 Thomas Leflore and No. 30 Andrew Perkins in his wake. Were going to Round 4, so I couldnt be more happy about that, Berry said. But theres just a couple things we could fix. Come out with a little bit more intensity, but were headed to Round 4, like I said, so I couldnt be more happy about that. My favorite part was when that clock hit all zeros, and we were headed for the fourth round.
