Senior Brooke Murphree is in her first year of ENO. Usually she’s found reading or doodling and she’s always happy to be helpful. Being in ENO includes two of her favorite pastimes: photography and writing.

I was told it could be anything and didn't have to focus on my school experience," Murphree said. "I wanted it to have something to do with my time at PHS, so I thought about it the way I do about everything else, by hand, writing down my thoughts with pops of color."

On Jan. 12, the first episode of the show "Velma" was released on HBO Max. The show had 10 episodes in season 1, received many mixed reviews, and still has a high chance for a second season. "I didn't originally plan to watch the show, but curiosity got the better of me," Brooke Murphree said. "I was shocked watching the first episode alone."

"Be a little kinder than you have to," reads "We Were Liars" by E. Lockhart. According to reviewer Brooke Murphree, this novel produces quite the read to start off 2023. "This book was very mysterious as I started reading it," Murphree said. "For the most part, I really enjoyed the messages in the book as Cadence tries to work through her own issues. I did grow attached to most of the characters, and the end was shocking for sure."
