Softball finishes district play undefeated, heads to first playoff series

As they end the regular season with a record of 27-4-1, the Prosper Eagles Varsity Softball team looks to their first series of the playoffs – and a run for state. The Eagles are going into the post-season undefeated and in first place in the 6A Region I District 5 with a record of 12-0. They are also currently ranked 17th in the state, according to MaxPreps. 

The Eagles played their first game of the bi-district round series Thursday, April 28, at 7 p.m., away at Flower Mound Marcus High School and lost 13-3. The second game will be played Friday, April 29, at 7 p.m. at home. The third game will be played – if needed based on the results of the first two – Saturday, April 30, at 1 p.m. away at Denton Guyer High School.

The Eagles will face the Flower Mound Marcus Mauraders, who are going into the game with an overall record of 20-10-1 and a record of 9-6 in 6A Region I District 6, ranked fourth, according to MaxPreps. Having been undefeated in district play, the Eagle coaches said they are feeling confident going into the second game of the first series.
