Eagle Brief: March 5-19
As the judge watches her closely, Sydney DuVall squats at the regional meet. DuVall placed fourth in the meet March 4. The girls powerlifting team placed sixth overall and third in the 6A regional championship.

Eagle Update
- After governor Greg Abbott’s March 2 announcement, Superintendent Dr. Holly Ferguson released in her letter on March 5 that the district will continue to require masks for students and faculty in-person during the school day. However, face coverings will no longer be required in open-air, ventilated spaces such as recess, outdoor parties, extracurricular activities in outdoor spaces, and morning-and-afternoon carlines. These changes take effect March 15. For more information on the lifted mask mandate, click here.

- The school day of March 5 will follow the afternoon special event bell schedule due to the Black History Month presentation.
- Students can wear hats to school on March 5.
- PISD’s spring break begins March 5, and school will resume March 15.
- Due to the Texas Education Association’s ruling, the district has announced students will not make up the missed school days from the snow week.

- The Parent Teacher Organization is accepting nominations for the executive board. Nominations should be filled out through the Google form here.

- Girls soccer plays Allen at the PISD Children’s Health Stadium March 16.
- Boys soccer will play against Allen at the Allen Baseball Stadium March 16.

- Track will compete against Hebron High School away March 18.
- The softball team will play against South Lake Carroll at home March 19.
- Girls soccer plays against McKinney Boyd away March 19.
- Boys soccer plays McKinney Boyd at the Children’s Health Stadium March 19.
- The first annual PISD Hope Walk will be held at the Children’s Health Stadium at 9 a.m. March 20.
