Prosper boys wrestling took home the state championship this past weekend, winning five matches on their way to the title. Prosper placed first out of 15 total schools, and had no trouble winning all five matchups.

The first round saw the Eagles take on RL Turner. This first round was no match for Prosper as they took down the Lions, 53-18.

In the second round, Prosper went up against Corpus Christi Ray. Although this was a different round, the game ended in the same result. The boys defeated Corpus Christi Ray, 63-15.

After cruising past El Paso Hanks (65-11) in the third round, the Eagles advanced to the State Semifinals. Once again, Prosper kept rolling, knocking off Randall, 48-18.

In the state championship, it was the same story as it was in the previous four rounds. Local DFW team Carrolton Creekview was no match for the Prosper boys wrestling team, dropping the matchup 61-13.

This past weekend was monumental for the Prosper wrestling program, as well as its players and coaches. However, this season isn’t entirely over. The Eagles and Lady Eagles will be competing for individual accolades this month, hoping that this part of the season will end in the same fashion as the last.
