Hope Squad walks ‘Out of Darkness’ in community event

An arch of rainbow balloons marks the beginning of the walking route. "Out of the Darkness Walk" drew hundreds of participants to the Windsong Ranch neighborhood in Prosper Saturday, Nov. 7. "I thought it was so cool to see how many people came out to support and raise awareness to suicide prevention," sophomore Hope Squad member Landon Bownds said. "It was nice to see both schools and the shared community come together for a really important cause"

One of the many teams that walked this route in Windsong Ranch was Prosper and Rock Hill’s Hope Squad. Highlights of the event included people, music and colored beads that represented why participants joined the walk. AFSP members made themselves available to help. This annual walk had 35 teams, 455 participants, and has already raised $33,589.26. For information on donations to the foundation, click the website here.
