Jessi Burris

Jessi Burris to teach English III.

1.What did you do before Prosper and/or teaching?

“I came from Lewisville High School. I worked at the main campus teaching 11th and 12th graders english. Before that I came from Kingston, Oklahoma. I’ve pretty much always been teaching. This is my ninth year.”

2. What’s the craziest thing that has happened while teaching or in your past career?

“Two kids tried to fight in my doorway and I was seven months pregnant jumping in the middle trying to stop it.”

3. Favorite part about teaching?

“I like seeing the ‘aha’ moment for students when they get something.”

4. Goal for yourself and your students this year?

“I just want them to be prepared to move on. Whether it be move on to senior year or move on into workforce, college. For myself, it’s just getting used to the differences between here and what I’ve done in the past.”
