1. What did you do before Prosper and/or teaching?

“I have been in Prosper for a year ,and I moved here from Long Island, New York, and I taught in New York.”

2. What’s the craziest thing that has happened while teaching or in your past career?

“My first day – and this wasn’t here – there was a lockdown drill within the first five minutes of class. That was nutty. It was just a drill, but it was very unexpected.”

3. Favorite part about teaching?

“I really love high school. I’ve only taught high school, and I just like seeing the kids realize that they can do it. It’s really fun to see them turn a corner and realize they can actually do something – especially with a foreign language because it’s tricky – and then with Spanish, I love because they can actually use it. They go on vacation, they come back and say ‘I was able to speak to that person,’ and you know it’s fun to see them get rewarded for their hard work.”

4. Goal for yourself and your students this year?

“For me personally, I have a son who is a senior, so helping him with his college. I have another son who is in college. So, it is about balance because we are new to Texas. It’s helping, making sure everyone is adjusting well, moving forward, and that I am also making a difference in my students’ lives. I want to do my job well.”
