The district announced that a virtual learning option will be available for students in grades kindergarten-sixth, starting Oct. 13. The online platform will be called PISD Virtual Academy and is a temporary learning solution to rising COVID-19 cases. We are grateful for our community’s continued support as we work together to overcome the ongoing COVID challenges, the district said in an email sent to parents.

On a tour of Dallas Baptist University, senior Gabriella Winans visits Pilgrim Chapel, the campus church. The chapel opened in 1878, and still holds service today. The detour, classified as part of Prairie Crossing, for Frontier Parkway sits in the morning before school traffic begins. The detour was opened for the public Aug. 5 to make up for the construction of the Frontier Parkway overpass and expansion of the road.
