imageFor the third year in a row the Eagle volleyball team has won the district title. The team is a source of pride for the community of Prosper. From students to teachers, and parents, the girls always have a big crowd watching them play.

The volleyball team has had a pretty consistent record over the past few years

“We are currently undefeated in district,” said Haley Killinger. “We’re playing really well as a team.”

This is a good thing to hear as the team approaches playoffs, which are coming up fast. The eagles last district game will be on Oct. 25, which means the first round of playoffs will be on Nov. 1.

The Eagles made an amazing state run in 2013 making it all the way to the state game, but falling short and receiving second place.

Since then, the girls haven’t been able to make it that far.

“This years playoffs will definitely be harder than our district has been,” said Katy Weatherly. “We’re anticipating coming up against Lovejoy pretty early and that’s definitely going to be a challenge, but I don’t think it’s anything we can’t handle.”

There is no question from the girls whether they have the skills to to well in the playoffs.

“we just have to focus on one thing at a time and not jump all the way to the end.” Abby Gargus said, “I think we have the ability to make it all the way to state.”
