Golf teams ‘swing’ through tournaments, release results

Who: Girls and Boys Golf Team – Led by head boy’s coach Nick Sharp and head girl’s coach Ryan Salinas
What: Boys team competed at Denison Invitational. Girls teams competed at Heart of Texas.
When: Boys competed Monday, Oct. 5. Girls competed Oct. 2-3.Where: Boys competed at Tanglewood Golf Club. Girls competed at Pecan Valley Golf Course in Fort Worth.

Here’s a highlight quote from the coaches:
“We did not start well and kind of shot ourselves out of the tournament the first round, but we battled back the second 18 on Friday. Saturday, we played well at times and just dropped a couple of shots coming down the stretch.  All in all, we learned a lot about ourselves, and it is a great learning experience for us to build on and continue to improve every day.”

“We learned a lot about our team today. We hit the ball well but just couldn’t come through in scoring opportunities. We will look to improve our short game over the next couple of weeks before our next tournament, the Eaton Invitational, at The Golf Club at the Resort. ”
